Here is my favorite javascript libraies: jQuery for normal web site, EXT/YUI for rich web application and DWR for the communication of client and server.

I'm definitely a jQuery user through and through. I've used in a a few projects now, and I've released a small number of plugin.
@colin So far, Ext/YUI has been the only option for creating rich web apps, but keep an eye out for the jQuery UI Project, released this Sunday :)

I have used JQuery on a few major projects now and it is amazing, the latest releases have very fast selectors. Also it has a big community and its fairly easy to get answers if you should for some reason get stuck! I give it a big thumbs up.

I personally have discovered "X library" and I have to admit that I ditched prototype for it. http://www.cross-browser.com/
It's syntax is more close to the pure DOM scripting that I'm used to, and you can do as much as with prototype. At least, as much as I used prototype before.

Dojo does seem appealing; the declarative functionality is definitely worth investigating IMO. Combined with jQuery's selector functionality, this framework pair appears to offer a great solution for those of us who like 'separation of concers' i.e. separating presentation from logic. Thanks Jim!
